New Year’s Eve at Darwin Waterfront is set to be a night of family festivities with a packed line-up of local talent, two firework displays, a neon disco and a brand-new show from Liquid Light.


Kicking off from 5pm, the free family-friendly event will feature local musicians The Corbs, Scott Murphy, Stereobate, Vinyl Candy, Melanie Gray Band and So Fresh before the night rounds out with DJ Patty Holiday from 10pm until midnight.


Two spectacular firework displays will light up the sky at 9pm and midnight, accompanied by three showcases of a New Year’s themed Liquid Light, and neon fairies will excite and entertain the kids throughout the evening.



  • What entertainment is planned?

    Kicking off from 5pm, the free family-friendly event will feature local musicians, two epic firework displays and three spectacular water and light shows.


    The line-up for the night includes :

    • Stereobate
    • Viny Candy

    • DJ Patty Holiday 

    There will also be plenty of family friendly entertainment and a kids disco.

  • Where can I park?

    Free parking is available at the following locations:

    • Kitchener Drive multi-storey carpark
    • Darwin Convention Centre underground carpark
    • Fort Hill carpark
    • Maivie Street overflow parking
    • State Square carpark

    Once Waterfront parking is full, vehicles will be directed to find alternate parking. We recommend planning ahead, car-pooling or utilising public transport. 

  • Access to the Darwin Waterfront

    To assist with the expected traffic on New Year's Eve, a portion of Kitchener Drive will be closed between the multi-storey carpark and Chow restaurant. 


    This closure will mean all residents and visitors staying in apartments will need to access the Waterfront via Hughes Avenue.


    Anyone parking in the multi-storey carpark, Convention Centre or staying at the Adina Vibe Hotel will need to access the Waterfront via McMinn Street. 

  • Do I need a ticket for the event?

    No ticket required! This year's event is FREE.

  • Will there be fireworks this year?

    There sure will be! We have two epic firework displays planned for 9pm & midnight. 

  • Are the restaurants hosting events?

    Some of the venues at the Waterfront host their own New Year's Eve events.

  • Will food be available?

    Yes. All of our restaurants will be open and food vans will be available on-site throughout the evening.

    Please note: New Year's Eve at Darwin Waterfront is an alcohol and smoke free event.

  • Can I bring a picnic?

    Yes you can! We will have food vendors available on-site, alternatively you can bring your own food.
