Experience a showcase of sound, water and light as Liquid Light transforms the Darwin Waterfront. Allow Liquid Light to captivate you with its epic multi-media experience, including laser projection, water fountains, flames and animations, all programmed to an energetic soundtrack.


Liquid Light - A Christmas Wonderland, is a free experience, transforming your usual Christmas light display into an amazing night for the entire family. Explore the parklands of the Waterfront, taking in our stunning decorations & enjoying dinner at one of our premier dining venues, before settling in for one of the shows at 7.30pm, 8pm or 8.30pm.

SENSORY FRIENDLY NIGHT: Every Tuesday our Liquid Light show will play a more toned-down soundtrack to make you feel comfortable, even if you are not a fan of loud music or big crowds!


  • What is Liquid Light?

    Liquid Light is a five-week showcase of sound, light and water. 


    Liquid Light will start on Saturday, 30 November with 'A Christmas Wonderland' and will feature 3 times each night at 7.30pm, 8pm and 8.30pm. 


    Our 'New Year's Eve Spectacular' will commence on 31 December and run until Sunday, 5 January.

  • Where can I see the show from?

    Thanks to the nature of the show, there are several fantastic viewing locations across the Waterfront. 


    Our Peninsula Lawns are the perfect spot for families wanting to roll out a picnic blanket & grab a takeaway from one of our restaurants. Alternatively, the boardwalk surrounding the Darwin Convention Centre offers close-up views of the show, and the Sea Wall provides a great undercover option if we’re getting a bit of rain!

  • Is there accessible seating and parking available?

    Accessible parking is available in the rear Darwin Convention Centre carpark, in our multi-storey carpark or on-street, with wheelchair access to the lower boardwalk and Sea Wall available. 


    Seating is not available. The show runs for approximately 10 minutes at 7.30, 8pm and 8.30pm.

  • Do I need a ticket?

    You don't need a ticket for Liquid Light. This fantastic event is FREE and runs multiple times each night.

  • How long does the show go for?

    Each show runs for approximately 13 minutes, with the show running at 7.30pm, 8pm and 8.30pm. 


    Please note: the same show runs three times each night. However, there are two unique shows as part of Liquid Light:

    • A Christmas Wonderland: 30 November to 25 December
    • New Year's Eve Spectacular: 31 December to 5 January
  • Who is Liquid Light suitable for?

    Liquid Light is suitable for everyone!  Each show is suitable for families and has unique elements, which means you’ll need to join us for both Christmas & New Year's.


    Please note: Liquid Light may include intense and rapidly changing visual effects, including bright lights, flashing patterns, and stroboscopic effects. While these elements are an integral part of the show, they may pose a potential risk to individuals with epilepsy or light-sensitive conditions.
